Volunteers
Volunteers are LCL's greatest assets! Volunteers are lawyers, judges and law students in recovery from addiction and mental health or emotional problems. They freely offer their time and share their life experiences to assist others who are suffering from these same illnesses. They offer a unique service to LCL because they have "been there". They know first hand what it is like to suffer from these illnesses. They know the hurt these illnesses inflict upon family, friends and colleagues. And, they know the path to successful recovery. They can often help when no one else can. Volunteers are discreet and will speak to you in person or by telephone. Whether you are seeking help for yourself, a colleague or a family member, LCL volunteers and staff will answer your questions and assist you in finding a way out of your problems. Some volunteers attend local, "lawyers only" 12 Step meetings. If it is appropriate, and you so desire, they will gladly introduce you to other volunteers who attend these meetings. For more information on how a volunteer can help you or to locate a volunteer, call the LCL Administrative Office (1-800-335-2572). We are always looking for more volunteers. If you have "been through the wringer" or feel you have a valuable contribution to make and you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please call us at the LCL Administrative Office (1-800-335-2572).
